Halo 3 was the game that really hooked me and turned this game franchise into a personal passion. While Halo 2 was my first Halo game, Halo 3 was the game I sunk the most hours into. Playing custom games with friends, getting my ass kicked in multiplayer, and replaying the epic campaign over and over again.

Halo 3: ODST

A spinoff that takes place during the events of Halo 2. You play as one of various ODSTs under the fireteam Alpha Nine. You play mostly as The Rookie as he is seperated from the rest of his fireteam after the covenant carrier jumps through slipspace in the middle of the city of New Mombasa. You must uncover the mystery of what happened to your team, in order to regroup and get back to base. You'll play as Dutch, Mickey, Romeo, and their leader Buck as you uncover what happened to them and their fight to regroup.

This game has an absolutely beautiful atmosphere, accompanied by a somber jazz soundscore as you roam the desolate nighttime streets of New Mombasa in search of clues to the location of your team. This game introduced the game mode Firefight, in which you must survive wave after wave of covenant forces. This game also introduced an unlock path to claim the mythical Recon armor. An armor formerly exclusively held by Bungie staff and hand-picked community members.
